Fisker Karma Create Buzz at LA Auto Show

Fisker of Orange County welcomes the 2011 Fisker Karma at the 2010 LA Auto Show. The LA Auto Show will mark the historic arrival of the modern electric car era. The auto show will host 20 world debuts and more than 30 North American debuts across virtually all vehicle categories.

Southern California car enthusiasts and those who are considering the Fisker can stop into Irvine BMW to pickup free passes to the LA Car Show. You can obtain passes by asking for Steve Rudkin, General Manager when you arrive. Steve will be running the new Fisker of Orange County location when it opens in February 2011. Supplies are limited so California enthusiasts are asked to act quickly.

The Orange County Fisker showroom will be located at 16163 Lake Forest Drive, Suite L in Irvine California. The facility will be the premier California Fisker dealership located just minutes from Fisker corporate headquarters. “We’re excited that the Fisker Karma will be showcased in LA,” said Fisker of Orange County General Manager, Steve Rudkin. “The all- new Fisker Karma sets the standard for electric luxury vehicles, and we’re excited to see what spectators will say,” he said.

The Karma uses Q-DRIVE plug-in hybrid technology, developed exclusively for Fisker Automotive by Quantum Technologies. A fully charged Karma burns no fuel for the first 50 miles. Venture further and the gasoline engine turns a generator to charge the lithium ion battery. Once the 50-mile electric range has been exceeded, the car operates as a normal hybrid vehicle.

The balance of electric and gas range makes it entirely possible that Karma drivers who charge their car overnight and commute less than 50 miles a day will achieve an average fuel economy of 100 mpg (2.4L/100km) per year.
